KUPWARA, JULY 04: Principal Secretary Culture, Suresh Kumar Gupta, emphasized the importance of bridging communication gaps among officers and departments to resolve public issues effectively.
He made these remarks during a Public Darbar held at Environmental Hall Handwara of frontier Kupwara district.
Addressing a diverse group of delegations, individuals, civil society members, and representatives, Gupta highlighted that inadequate information flow often creates communication barriers, hindering the resolution of community issues. The Public Darbar provided a platform for citizens to voice their concerns and seek prompt redressal, he said.
Key issues raised by the public included concerns about drinking water supply, drainage and sanitation, challenges faced by the tribal population, the need for enhanced power infrastructure, road widening, and improved connectivity. Several deputations also highlighted issues such as the need for embankments of nallas and streams, and the establishment of new industries in the district.
Gupta assured all attendees that their genuine concerns would be prioritized and addressed. He specifically noted that issues related to the Jal Jeevan Mission would be taken into account for expedited resolution.
The Principal Secretary encouraged the public to avail themselves of both Central and J&K Government schemes, urging officers to ensure that information about these schemes reaches the deserving populations effectively.
During the Public Darbar, Chairman DDC Kupwara, Irfan Sultan Panditpori, Deputy Commissioner Kupwara, Ayushi Sudan, Director Libraries, Mohd Rafi, ADC Handwara, Aziz Ahmad Rather and other concerned officers were also present.
On the occasion, the Principal Secretary e-inaugurated two significant projects: the construction of a footbridge at Putwari Nallah in Dangerwari block Magam under MGNREGA and the construction of an Anganwadi center at Cachri B in Khanoo Babagund. The total project cost amounts to Rs 16.10 lakh.
Later, the Principal Secretary visited Lolab sub division and inaugurated a Border Block Library at Sogam in presence of Director Libraries, ADC Kupwara, ADC Handwara, SDM Lolab and DDC Sogam and large number of citizens.
