RAMBAN, JULY 04: In a significant step towards accelerating holistic development in the region, the District Administration Ramban, under the leadership of Deputy Commissioner, Baseer-Ul-Haq Chaudhary, today launched the Sampoornta Abhiyan under the Aspirational Block Programme (ABP) in Block Khari. The programme aims to improve the performance of areas lagging on various development parameters and convergence of resources to aid inclusive development.
The Programme was presided over by Chairperson DDC Ramban, Dr Shamshad Shan along with Deputy Commissioner Baseer-Ul-Haq Chaudhary and Senior Scientist from NITI AAYOG Jagdesh Kumar. The program witnessed the presence of DDC Councillors, Lieutenant Colonel Sultan Malik, DPO ICDS Jahangir Hashmi, CPO Ramban Shakeeb Ahmed Rather, ACP Ashfaq Khanji, other District and Sectoral officers, and a huge gathering of locals, staff were present on the occasion.
Speaking on the occasion, the Chairperson DDC said that “Sampoornata Abhiyan is a significant step towards bridging the gap in development and ensuring inclusive growth in the Aspirational Blocks.
“This initiative will converge resources, improve infrastructure, and enhance the quality of life for our citizens”, she said and urged stakeholder departments to work together to create a prosperous and vibrant society where no one is left behind.
The Deputy Commissioner advocated “Education is the key to unlocking the potential of our women and girls. Let us empower them to read, write, and lead. Female literacy is the catalyst for a prosperous and equitable society. Let us join hands to make every woman and girl a literate and independent citizen.”
The Senior Scientist from NITI AAYOG explained in detail the aims and objectives of the Sampoornata Abhiyan and informed that Aspirational Blocks Programme (ABP) was launched by the PM in 2023 and aims for the saturation of essential government services in the Aspirational Blocks in multiple domains such as health, nutrition, education, drinking water and sanitation, agriculture, water resources, financial inclusion, and basic infrastructure.
The NITI Aayog has launched ‘Sampoornata Abhiyan’, a 3-month campaign from 4th July – 30th September 2024, to undertake a sustained effort to achieve saturation of 6 key indicators in Aspirational Blocks across the country. Sampoornata Abhiyan’ will focus on the following 6 identified KPIs across all Aspirational Blocks; Percentage of pregnant women registered for Antenatal Care (ANC) within the first trimester, Percentage of persons screened for Diabetes against the targeted population in the Block, Percentage of persons screened for Hypertension against the targeted population in the Block, Percentage of pregnant women taking Supplementary Nutrition under the ICDS Programme regularly, Percentage of Soil Health Cards generated against the soil sample collection target, and Percentage of SHGs that have received a Revolving Fund against the total SHGs in the block.
The District Administration Ramban is committed to raising the living standards of its citizens and ensuring inclusive growth for all. During the launch, various activities such as Painting, Quiz, and Debate competitions were held on the theme. A list of activities in the block Khari has been finalized as part of the ‘Sampoornata Abhiyan. Additionally, all the departments have been encouraged to regularly conduct outreach activities to maintain the campaign’s momentum and foster ongoing participation to ensure saturation of key indicators in the Block.
