Bandipora July 02: The Deputy Commissioner Bandipora Shakeel ul Rehman accompanied by Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Lakshay Sharma, SDM Sumbal Aamir Choudhary, and officers from various departments visited Imam Baras in the Sumbal area of the district and reviewed arrangements at Imam Bara SonaBaran,Rakhi Asham,Nowgam, Shadipora and others.

During their visit, the Deputy Commissioner and SSP met with local leaders and community members to discuss various concerns and enhance coordination. They assured them
that all necessary measures are being taken to ensure smooth observance of Muharram related rituals.

The Deputy Commissioner said that all measures are in place to provide round the clock facilities at all Imam Baras including uninterrupted power supply to all concerned areas, sanitation and other essentials.

The Deputy Commissioner passed on spot directives to various departments regarding the issues raised by locals regarding street lights, repairing of inner roads, water supply and others.

He directed the concerned departments to ensure all arrangements well in advance to facilitate smooth observance of Muharram.

SSP Bandipora , Lakshay Sharma, while interacting with local representatives and community members said that all the necessary security measures are in place and emphasized the importance of community cooperation and vigilance in maintaining peace and hormony during important religious events.

The community members expressed gratitude for the proactive approach of the administration and assured their full support in ensuring a peaceful Muharram Observance.

Pertinently, Deputy Commissioner, Bandipora, had convened a meeting with community and religious representatives a few days back at Dak Bungalow Sumbal and had also visited some adjoing Imam Baras to take firsthand appraisal of facilities.
