Calls for timely finalisation of Plan, estimation process
KISHTWAR, JUNE 27: Deputy Commissioner Kishtwar Dr Devansh Yadav today chaired a meeting of key stakeholders to discuss formulation of District Capex Plan 2024-25 & Area Development Plan, besides evaluating the progress on estimation of works proposed so far.
The meeting was attended by CPO Kishtwar Shahnawaz Bali,District Officers, ExEn of ReW, PWD, PMGSY, PHE, JPDCL, along with all BDOs and other relevant stakeholders.
During the course of the meeting, sector wise ceiling under the district Capex Budget for the year 2024-25 was conveyed to all the district officers besides the guidelines and directions to formulate the sector wise and work wise Plan was also discussed in detail.
The chair directed the officers to ensure the formulation and submission of the plan within 3 days. Stress was laid on the formulation of a multilayer prospective plan that will yield maximum to the public benefit. He also asked members to focus on completion of ongoing projects and project only those works which can be completed within the working season of the current financial year.
It was also exhorted upon all Key department officers to formulate the development plan in accordance with the ceiling conveyed to them and to ensure the best use of available resources.
The main features of this year’s plan include additional classrooms for schools, the elimination of duplicate Jal Shakti connections if any, the embellishment of street light poles for beautification, model Anganwadi Centres, the integration of STEM labs and Agaaz labs, among other significant works.
Special thrust was laid on Health, Education. For the Drinking water plan, Jal Shakti department was asked to shelf all the schemes effectively in the plan to provide tap water supply to all left out habitations during the current financial year.
The departments were direct to prioritise schemes and include the same in the new plan to serve the interest of the public. BDOs were asked to conduct gram sabhas and finalise Area Development Plan within 2 days for submit those approved to higher ups.
During the meeting, the progress made at the block level regarding the estimation of proposed projects under the Area Development Plan was thoroughly reviewed and deliberated upon. A series of directives were issued to BDOs & the concerned authorities to expedite the estimation process.
The DC articulated that the objective is to ensure all proposed projects are executed without any technical hindrances, ensuring optimal efficiency and transparency.
Furthermore, the review meeting provided a platform for open dialogue, facilitating the discussion on various issues and grievances.
Deliberations were undertaken to find effective solutions and ensure that the developmental projects align with the needs and aspirations of the local community.
DC Kishtwar underscored the importance of collaborative and collective efforts in successfully implementing the proposed projects under the Area Development Plan. He urged all stakeholders to work in unison, leaving no stone unturned to ensure the timely completion of projects without compromising on quality or technical aspects.
