“Collaborative efforts are needed for conservation of our glorious heritage”: Darakhshan

Dr Syed Darakhshan Andrabi, the Chairperson of J&K Waqf Board today attended the Exhibition of art demonstrations & artifacts related to the Sufi-Spiritual Heritage of Kashmir at Srinagar. Varied artifacts and historically significant demonstrative frames of art & crafts were displayed in the exhibition. The theme of the exhibition was sufi- spiritual tradition of Kashmir. The exhibition was organised by INTAC J&K in collaboration with some volunteers. Dr Andrabi prayed the organisers for this very significant display. “I am highly thankful to the team of organisers, especially Saleem Beg Sahib, the famed art conservator, former DG Tourism J&K & INTAC J&K Convener for such a great initiative. Our young generation needs to be shown the magnificent heritage proofs we own and apprise them of the importance of conservation and continuance of this glorious tradition”, said Dr Darakhshan. She said that she would like to devise a plan for the large scale conservation of this heritage by roping in different private patterns and searching the broader possibilities of collaborative efforts in this connection.
