J&K POLICE FREEZE PROPERTIES WORTH ₹2.0 CRORES BELONGING TO NOTORIOUS DRUG KING PIN “CHIRAG ATTRI” IN BISHNAH AREA OF JAMMU

Jammu, Jun 03: The Jammu & Kashmir Police In Jammu District continuing its action against drug peddlers today on 03.06.2024 freezed/confiscated the properties of notorious drug smuggler(Kingpin) namely *Chirag Attri @ Chetan* S/O Late Ved Raj Attri R/O Chak Jaralan Tehsil Bishnah District Jammu under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act. as a part of a drive against Drug Peddlers under Operation *SANJEEVANI*.

The said drug smuggler is a habitual,repeated offender and several NDPS cases have been registered against him in the past and has been recently detained under PIT NDPS.

J&K Police in Bishnah area Jammu today freezed/attached the 03 properties
i) Under Khasra No. 345, situated at village Chak Jaralan, Bishnah
ii) A commercial Pacca Hall having dimensions of 50’X27′ feet situated at village Chak Chua, Bishnah and
iii) Also freeze a vehicle Swift Desire bearing registration No. JK02DE-6002 of the said notorious drug smuggler.

The action was taken under sections 68-E, F of the NDPS Act of 1985 and is linked with different cases of NDPS Act registered against the above mentioned notorious drug peddler.

The properties were identified as illegally acquired properties during the course of investigation/enquiry conducted by the Police. The properties were prima facie acquired from the proceeds of illicit trafficking in Narcotic drugs and Psychotropic substances by the drug peddler.

Presently, the said notorious drug peddler is detained under PIT NDPS Act issued by the Divisional Commissioner, Jammu and below mentioned cases under NDPS were registered against him.

1. Case FIR No. 134/2022 U/S 8/21/22 NDPS Act, Miran Sahib
2. Case FIR No. 192/2022 U/S 341/324/201/34 IPC, P/S Bishnah
3. Case FIR No. 203/2022 U/S 8/21/22 NDPS Act, P/S Bishnah.

Police have urged people to come forward with any information regarding drug peddling in their neighbourhood and warned that any person found indulging in drug peddling will be dealt strictly as per law.

This operation reaffirms the commitment of Police to combat the drug menace. Local people of the area hailed this initiative of J&K Police.
