Sopore Bar Association held elections, Adv. Faisal Anim elected as President, and Adv. Manzoor Gazi as VP

Sopore, June 01: The Sopore Bar Association finally held its elections on Saturday after a gap of two years. Advocate Faisal Anim was elected unopposed as the President.

The occasion at the Sopore Court was filled with a joyous election environment, with more than 10 candidates contesting for different posts.

For the post of President, Advocate Faisal Amin won unopposed, while Advocate Manzoor Gazi also won the Vice President post unopposed.

The elections for other posts were also held, which witnessed a healthy competition between the contestants. Advocate Sameer was elected as Secretary by defeating his opponent with a huge margin.

For the post of secretary, a total of 49 votes were cast, in which Advocate Sameer got 41 while his opponent got only 8 votes.

For the Additional Secretary post, Advocate Arif was elected, defeating his opponent Advocate Ghulam Nabi Malik. Arif got 35 votes, while Ghulam Nabi got only 14 votes.

For the Treasurer post, Advocate Sameer Dar was elected, and Advocate Sakib Reshi was elected as the Chief Librarian unopposed.

Meanwhile, Advocate Uzma was also given the post of Lady Member by the association. The fight was witnessed between Advocate Uzma and Advocate Rafia, in which Uzma got 31 votes, while Rafia got only 17 votes.

Pertinently, the elections were held in the Sopore Bar Association after a gap of two years.

Speaking on the occasion, the elected members assured the association that they would work for the betterment and welfare of the association. They assured that all the issues of the members would be a priority and would be addressed for the betterment of the association.
