Anantnag May 31: Zonal Physical Education Office Bijbehara organized a thrilling Inter School Zonal Level Cycle Race on Saturday at Bijbehara here. The event witnessed an extraordinary display of talent and determination from U-14 and U-17 boys hailing from various schools in the sports zone.
The highly anticipated race commenced at 7:30 AM from Padshah Bagh Bridge Bijbehara and concluded at Govt. Middle School Laribal Krandigam. The race was flagged off by the senior officials of the Department which set the stage for an exhilarating competition.
About 225 young cycling enthusiasts , representing different schools across Bijbehara, participated in this prestigious event. The young athletes showcased their remarkable skills, endurance, and competitive spirit, captivating the audience with their speed and agility.
As the race unfolded, the riders pushed their limits, navigating challenging terrains and demonstrating their exceptional cycling abilities. The sheer determination displayed by these young athletes was truly inspiring, leaving spectators in awe of their potential.
The successful execution of this Inter School Zonal Level Cycle Race would not have been possible without the tremendous efforts of the Zonal Physical Education Office Bijbehara and his field staff.
The event has not only provided a platform for young cyclists to showcase their talent, but it has also fostered a sense of camaraderie and healthy competition among students. By organizing such events, the Sports Department aims to instill a love for sports and physical fitness among the youth of South Kashmir.
With the safety and well-being of the participants as a top priority, a dedicated medical team from Medical Block Bijbehara was present throughout the race to provide immediate first aid assistance in case of any medical emergencies. Their presence ensured that the event proceeded smoothly and with the utmost care for the well-being of all involved.
In the fiercely contested U-17 category, Faraz Manzoor of HSS Bijbehara emerged as the deserving winner, claiming the 1st place. Following closely behind, Mohsin Farooq of HSS Arwani secured the 2nd place, while Muzamil Rehman of HSS HP Bagh secured the 3rd place. Ahsan Iftikhar of SKIPS Bijbehara and Abrarul Ashraf of Public School Bijbehara showcased their talent by securing the 4th and 5th ranks, respectively.
In the U-14 category, the young and promising Sameer Tariq of SKIPS Bijbehara showcased his exceptional cycling skills and secured the 1st place. Sharing the 2nd rank were Mohtashim of SKIPS Bijbehara and Obaid Manzoor of Sir Syed Memorial School Zirpara, both displaying commendable performances. Sayik Yousuf of HS HP Bagh secured the 3rd place, while Basit Rehman of SKIPS Bijbehara and Rahib Yaseen of MS Gadiseer finished with great determination, securing the 4th and 5th ranks, respectively.
The prize distribution ceremony, held to honor the remarkable achievements of these young athletes, was graced by Gh. Mohi Uddin Parrey, Head Master of Govt. Middle School Laribal. Parrey distributed the well-deserved medals and commended the participants for their outstanding performances. The ceremony was a memorable moment for all, as the winners were acknowledged for their hard work and dedication to the sport.
