Kupwara Assault Row: Army Terms Reports ‘Incorrect’

Srinagar, May 29 : The Indian Army on Wednesday said that reports of an altercation with police in north Kashmir’s Kupwara district are baseless and incorrect.

An army official told news agency that the reports of an altercation between police and army personnel, and the alleged beating up of police personnel, are unfounded and incorrect.

The official stated that minor differences that arose between a police personnel and a Territorial Army unit over an operational matter have been amicably resolved.

The army has refuted the reports of any assault or altercation, terming them as incorrect. The situation is under control, and the two forces have resolved the minor issues through dialogue he added.
