Numerous roads, including the vital arteries like Jada Road, Gundi Road, and Tad Road, lie in shambles, yet to be restored to a passable condition. This impairs essential transportation routes, hindering access to crucial services and exacerbating the isolation of affected communities.

The plight extends beyond the infrastructure to the very homes of the residents. Houses, such as the residence of Nawab Din in Nachiyan, bear the scars of the unforgiving weather, with damages ranging from structural vulnerabilities to the looming threat of collapse. Additionally, the residences of Raja Wakar Khan and Ravess Khan in Kandi stand in dire need of protective measures, with demands for sturdy protection walls to shield against further devastation.

Further compounding the woes is the looming specter of landslides, with areas like Peer Mohalla in Kandi facing the ominous threat of soil erosion. The houses of Adil Sayeed and Ishfaq Sayeed in Peer Mohalla stand precariously perched, vulnerable to the ravages of erosion-induced landslides.

In light of these escalating challenges, the beleaguered residents have turned to the administration, imploring the Deputy Commissioner of Kupwara and the Karnah Administration to take immediate and decisive action. Their urgent appeal underscores the pressing need for effective measures to mitigate the suffering and safeguard the lives and livelihoods of the affected populace.

As the rains persist and the specter of further devastation looms large, the resilience of Karnah’s residents is put to the test, as they await a swift and resolute response from the authorities to alleviate their plight and restore normalcy to their cherished valley.
