TEETWAL, KARNAH: Polling day in the Karnah Constituency is in full swing, with Kupwara recording an impressive polling percentage of over 60%. From the Higher Secondary School Kandi to various other polling stations, voters are coming out in droves to exercise their democratic right. The enthusiasm and orderly conduct at each station reflect the community’s commitment to shaping their future. Kudos to the polling staff and volunteers for their hard work and dedication.

Special polling stations have added a unique dimension to this democratic exercise. The Green Polling Station at Teetwal promotes a pollution-free environment, with the Forest Protection Force distributing plants to voters. At the PWD Managed Polling Station in Gundisharth, employees with disabilities are leading the way, ensuring accessible voting for all. The Seemarii Polling Station, recognized as India’s No. 1 polling station near the Line of Control, stands out as a unique and significant site.

Our correspondent, Peerzada Sayeed, also visited the Pink Polling Station, which is exclusively managed by women. This station underscores the message of women empowerment, with an all-female staff setting an inspiring example for voters.
