DEO Kulgam presides over the programme; folk music, painting competition & sports activities organized to foster voter awareness
KULGAM, MAY 18: To encourage and inspire the eligible voters to exercise their right to vote, a mega SVEEP (Systematic Voters’ Education and Electoral Participation) programme was today held at Altaf Memorial GDC Kilam, here.
The event was presided over by District Election Officer (DEO) Kulga, Athar Aamir Khan.
ARO Devsar, Viqar Ahmad Giri; Nodal Officer SVEEP, Nazia Hassan; Principal GDC, Shabir Ahmad and others were present at the event.
The program witnessed a variety of activities, including folk music, a painting competition and sports activities, all designed to foster voter awareness.
During the program, students and newly eligible voters actively engaged in a variety of activities, all of which aimed to instill a sense of civic duty and enthusiasm among participants and raise awareness about the significance of voting.
Addressing the occasion, DEO urged people to come out in large numbers on 25th of May, the day of Poll in Kulgam to exercise the right to vote.
He also added that elaborated arrangements for smooth conduct of elections have been made across the district.
Speakers and students on the occasion also highlighted the importance of voting.
