SHOPIAN, MAY 18: General Election Observer, Jenu Devan; Police Observer, B Naveen Kumar and Expenditure Observer, Shyam Manohar Singh for Anantnag-Rajouri Parliamentary Constituency (PC) today made a joint visit to Shopian district and chaired a review meeting with Nodal Officers on Election preparedness in the Zainpora AC of the Anantnag Parliamentary Constituency.
At the outset, District Election Officer (DEO) Shopian, Faz Lul Haseeb briefed the Observers about various aspects of the District Election management Plan in the district and measures put in place for the elections.
DEO intimated that all logistical, material, security, manpower and other arrangements are in place for smooth conduct of elections in a free and fair manner in the district.
Concerned Nodal Officer also intimated the Observers about their assignments and arrangements being kept in place especially regarding dispatch and distribution centre, voter turnout, security, SVEEP, etc.
Observers took stock of the functioning of the District Election Control Room and discussed the Transport Plan, SVEEP activities, Security Plan and other parameters of the District Election Management plan and concerned Nodal Officers were directed to ensure efficient implementation of the plans for the smooth conduct of elections.
Observers on the occasion enquired about voter participation, SVEEP activities, security related issues and asked for making efforts for ensuring high voter turnout and incident free elections in the district.
SSP Shopian, Tanushree; ADDC, Dr. Nasir Ahmad Lone; ADC, Dr.Zakir Hussain Faaz; ARO Zainapora, Nodal Officers and other concerned were present in the meeting.
