The foot bridge constructed under MGNREGA in convergence with SDRF(State Disaster Response Fund) with a project cost of Rs.6.00 lacs has came as a boon for more than 100 rural households of the area who are benefiting from the newly constructed foot bridge as the residents have found easy access and safe passage to their means of livelihood.

This bridge which was constructed in a record time of 15 days on the directions of District Development Commissioner, Kupwara, Ms. Ayushi Sudan who is also District Election Officer (DEO) is proving a lifeline for farmers as they are connecting to their paddy fields, livestock routes, and ration store besides students safely reach their schools via this bridge.

Voters of the area are much happier and enthusiastic to cast their votes as they will use this bridge to reach the nearest polling station.

Work on the construction of this footbridge was taken up by RDD Block Magam, after the floods damaged the old Culvert leaving the residents disconnected and facing severe hardships in absence of a communication link.

Locals of the area have hailed the efforts of District Development Commissioner Kupwara, Ayushi Sudan and ACD Kupwara, Muzaffar Ahmed Sheikh for timely construction of this foot bridge which has eased their hardships.

ACD Kupwara said that work on other bridges including Badi Haji -Sarkuli Bridge, Badi Behack -Nagsari Bridge of Kalaroos and other infrastructure which were damaged by recent flash floods is under progress.
