Jammu, May 15: Continuing its spearheaded campaign against criminals and habitual offenders, the police in Akhnoor subdivision of Jammu District have slapped PSA against a notorious criminal. A police team from Akhnoor Police Station, acting on specific information, arrested Arun Kumar S/O Kalu Ram, R/O Ward No. 5, Raja Bazar, Akhnoor, and detained him under the Public Safety Act (PSA).
Jammu Police in subdivision Akhnoor has taken stringent measures against criminals, detaining 18 offenders under the Public Safety Act and PITNDPS Act, besides attaching properties worth crores as per sections 68 A ii(d) E, & F, and 82 & 83 CrPC. Arun Kumar, a notorious criminal and history-sheeter of Akhnoor Police Station, is involved in numerous heinous criminal cases, including criminal trespass, stabbing, and criminal intimidation.
It is pertinent to mention that multiple FIRs have been registered against the above-mentioned criminal at PS Akhnoor, highlighting his involvement in various serious offenses.
A warrant of arrest under PSA was issued against Arun Kumar by the DM Jammu based on a dossier submitted by District Police Jammu. The police team, led by SHO Akhnoor assisted by PSI Karnail Singh, apprehended the notorious criminal and executed the arrest warrant under the supervision of SDPO Akhnoor and SP Rural. Arun Kumar has been lodged in Central Jail Kot Bhalwal, Jammu.
