Peezada Sayeed Karnah // Inter party parliamentary voting is underway on May 20, and before the voting, there is intense political campaigning, especially in Karnah. During the election campaign in Karnah on Tuesday, Farooq Abdullah asked people for votes for his son Omar Abdullah, and the son of Engineer Rashid asked people for votes for his father. The National Conference held a session in Dak Banglow Karnah where party president Dr. Farooq Abdullah and other senior leaders were present. Dr. Farooq Abdullah, President of Parliament and NC, said in his address that the National Conference is a political party that understands people’s sorrows and pains. He said that in the current situation, the people of Jammu and Kashmir are distressed and intimidated. Farooq Abdullah said that hatred is being spread in the name of elections here, and to end it, we need to send a candidate to the center who truly speaks for people’s rights. Earlier, Dr. Farooq Abdullah addressed public gatherings in various places in Teetwal and tried to explain to the people that those who are asking for votes from you at this time are with the BJP. If your conscience doesn’t wake up at this time, then you will never be able to get out of slavery. He said that the present central government is spreading hatred; there is no stone left unturned for fight between Hindus and Muslims. On this occasion, senior leaders of the party including Sharifuddin Shariq, Najeeb Sarwardi, and Kafil ur Rahman were also present, who addressed the gathering. They appealed to the people to cooperate fully and participate in making the National Conference candidates successful, and on the day of voting, come out of their homes in droves to make their ancestral party National Conference successful. They urged party-affiliated individuals to continue the ongoing election campaign vigorously and ensure the splendid success of party candidates. Here, Engineer Rashid’s younger son Israr Rashid also addressed a rally in Karnah, asking for votes for his father and appealing to the people that his father’s release depends solely on their votes. Israr said that we do not do politics; we only ask for votes from you so that you can unite my mother and us with our father because without your vote, our father cannot return from jail. Israr said that no one has spoken for the people of Kashmir till now. Only my father, Engineer Rashid, was such a person who, barefoot, brought your issues to light. He said that Engineer Rashid had a lot of love for the people of Karnah; he always spoke for the people here.
