DEO Kupwara reviews poll preparedness in Special Polling Stations

KUPWARA, MAY 10: The District Election Officer (DEO) Kupwara, Ms. Ayushi Sudan, today chaired a meeting of concerned officers to review the poll preparedness in Special Polling Stations of the district ahead of Lok Sabha Election.
The meeting took a threadbare discussion regarding various arrangements made in special polling stations including Pink, Youth, Manned, PWD and Green Polling Stations. The DEO directed the concerned officers to ensure proper arrangements in place to ensure smooth and vibrant polling in these polling stations. She emphasized the essence of different colours and multifarious messages to attract the voters on the poll day adding that the voters shall experience a festive environment, besides, new voters will also be encouraged.
It was given out in the meeting that Pink polling stations are designated for women, Red for Persons with Disabilities and Blue for youth. Besides, it was also given out that plantation activity shall be carried out in polling stations coded with green colour.
The DEO stressed upon all the officers to work with added dedication and zeal to ensure smooth, fair and transparent conduct of the Lok Sabha election in the district.
ARO Trehgam, ARO Handwara, ARO Karnah, ARO Kupwara, ACD and BDOs attended the meeting.
