Poonch Model Higher Secondary School Sawjian Poonch, situated near the Line of Control (LOC) in Poonch district, commemorated World Red Cross Day with a fervent display of solidarity and awareness. On May 8, 2024, the school’s multipurpose hall buzzed with enthusiasm as students and faculty alike gathered to honor the humanitarian spirit embodied by the Red Cross movement.
The event, organized by the school administration, featured a symposium and Drawing Competition, drawing the active participation of sixteen students. Distinguished speakers, including Taniya Sajjad Khan, Mehvish Mushtaq, Nayema Bhatt, Jameela Khatoon, Rizwana, Ayaz,Junaid and Bilal shared insights on the history, relevance, and significance of World Red Cross Day, enlightening the audience about the pivotal role of humanitarian aid in conflict zones.
Mohd Shafi, Vice Principal of Model Higher Secondary School Sawjian Poonch, presided over the symposium, lending his guidance and wisdom to the discussions. Imran Khan, a dedicated teacher, skillfully conducted the proceedings, underscoring the importance of the international Red Cross society in alleviating human suffering globally.
The event also witnessed engaging interactions with the audience, facilitated by Mohd Khurseed, Ashish Gupta, and Jyoti Jamwal, esteemed educators of the school, who encouraged thoughtful reflections and discourse among attendees.
