Karnah:Widespread devastation has struck Karnah following heavy rainfall, with numerous roads washed away, residential structures damaged, and major highways closed. Two deceased individuals are stranded, prompting urgent action from local authorities. SDM Karnah conducted a tour to assess the extensive damages.

The aftermath reveals scenes of destruction, with disconnected roads and unrecognizable landscapes. Sadhna Top road is impassable due to snow accumulation, while landslides and boulders have rendered areas like Khoni Nala, Dub, and Dana inaccessible.

Two deceased individuals from Karnah await transportation for burial, further complicating the situation. Hundreds are stranded in Chowkibal and surrounding areas, while road damage extends to villages like Kona Gabra, Gundi Gujran, and others.

A major road collapse in Gundi gujra has severed communication, prompting appeals for intervention. Residents navigate alternative routes amidst damaged residential structures and disrupted power supply.

Criticism is directed at PMGSY Roads and R&B departments for inadequate drainage, exacerbating damages. Water pipe damages worsen the crisis, while decreased rainfall offers slight relief.

Under SDM Karnah’s guidance, assessment teams work to address damages, focusing on severely affected areas like Teetwal and Gundi Gujran. Urgent efforts are underway to provide assistance and restore normalcy amidst the devastation.
