_Urges LG led Admin to mobilize all departments & ensure safety of the citizens_

*Srinagar, April 29:* Peoples Conference President Sajad Lone today expressed grave concerns over the flood-like situation across the Kashmir Valley, urging the administration to ramp up efforts to safeguard locals living in low-lying areas and relocate them to safer places.

In a statement issued here, Mr. Lone assetted that inclement weather conditions have wreaked havoc on the local populace, with reports of inundation of villages and towns across the Kashmir division.

“I have been receiving calls from various districts, including Kupwara, Bandipora, Sopore and even parts of Srinagar City, where people are facing huge water logging. There is a potent threat to life and property, for which the administration should take concrete steps to tackle this situation,” he said.

Mr. Lone urged the Lt. Governor led administration to mobilize all departments urgently and effectively to handle the situation besides emphasizing the readiness of State Disaster Response Force teams.

“Our party cadres are also maintaining a strong eye on this flood-like situation and trying to keep the concerned quarters aware of the plight of locals on the ground. I am hopeful we will come out of this situation by keeping coordination and vigilance over the developing situation,” he added.
