Three storey residential house among four damaged due to heavy rains triggred landslides, owners urge admin to assist immediately

Jr sheikh Tariq

The recent heavy rainfall in the Mandi area has caused widespread devastation, with numerous houses being damaged and families left displaced and in urgent need of assistance. According to Ashfaq Hussain, the Tehsildar of Mandi, approximately 8-10 houses have been affected by the relentless downpour, exacerbating the plight of the affected residents.

One of the families facing the brunt of this natural disaster is that of Mohd Afzal from Bader. His house has been severely impacted by landslides, particularly distressing as Afzal recently hosted the marriages of his two daughters on the 4th and 5th of May 2024 in his now-damaged home. Desperate for help, Afzal is appealing to Mr. Mohammad Afzal for assistance, specifically requesting tents to ensure that he can continue with the marriage ceremonies for his daughters despite the challenging circumstances.

In another part of Mandi Tehsil, specifically in the Chakri Ban area, a single house has been reported as damaged, leaving three families who were residing in it homeless. The aftermath of the landslides has been devastating, with approximately 8 to 10 families within the market area also losing their homes due to the destructive force of nature.

The current situation demands immediate aid and support from authorities and individuals to alleviate the suffering of those affected. The impacted families are in urgent need of shelter, food, and other essential supplies to help them navigate through the aftermath of the heavy rainfall and landslides. The plea for assistance is a heartfelt cry for help from those who have lost everything and are struggling to rebuild their lives amidst the chaos and destruction.

As the community rallies together to support those in need, it is imperative for government agencies, non-governmental organizations, and individuals to extend a helping hand to the affected families. Providing temporary shelters, food provisions, and other necessary resources can make a significant difference in easing the burden of those grappling with the aftermath of the natural calamity.

In times of crisis, solidarity and compassion play a pivotal role in helping communities recover and rebuild. By responding promptly to the appeals for assistance and working collaboratively to address the immediate needs of the affected families, we can make a positive impact and bring hope to those facing adversity in the wake of the heavy rainfall and landslides in Mandi.
