KUPWARA, APRIL 25: Under SVEEP programme, Education Department and Youth Service & Sports department Kupwara today organized a cricket match at Boys Higher Secondary School Trehgam. The cricket match was inaugurated by Deputy Commissioner Kupwara, Ms. Ayushi Sudan who is also District Election Officer.

On the occasion, the Deputy Commissioner Kupwara along with officers released some pigeons in the sky to mark the inauguration of the cricket match.

Additional District Development Commissioner Kupwara (ARO Trehgam), Gulzar Ahmad Bhat; Chief Education Officer (Nodal Officer SVEEP), Abdul Majeed; District Youth Services & Sports Officer, Zahoor Ahmad, ZEO and CDPO, besides, Employees from line departments, Anganwari Workers, ASHAs and large number of students and general public attended the programme.

On her arrival, the Deputy Commissioner was given a grand welcome by the students and people present there.

Speaking at the occasion, the Deputy Commissioner urged upon the people to come in large number and cast their valuable votes on the polling day. She said that Kupwara residents both male and female folk are proactive for participating in the electoral process adding that the District Administration Kupwara has ensured availability of Assured Minimum Facilities in all polling stations including those in far flung areas so that the people can exercise their right to vote conveniently.

She appreciated the organizers of the function including School Principal and CEO for conduct of the function.

ADDC Kupwara also spoke and administered an oath to the participants to make promise for casting their vote on polling day to strengthen the democracy.

Earlier, the school children presented variety of programmes including Dumbles, Gojri programme and other cultural variety programmes, highlighting the significance of voting in the democratic process.

Later, the Deputy Commissioner participated in the plantation drive conducted in the compound of BHSS Trehgam and planted cedar trees.

Meanwhile, the two day Plantation Drive under SVEEP has been concluded in district Kupwara. Plantation drive was held today in various polling stations.
