In a police operation in Kupwara, led by Station House Officer (SHO) Ishaq Ahmed, three notorious thieves were captured. This event occurred while a police team was conducting checks near a canal in the TiKker area of Kupwara. The thieves were apprehended as they happened to pass by.

SHO Ishaq Ahmed had prior suspicions about these individuals, which led to their arrest under dubious circumstances. Upon their arrest and subsequent questioning, a substantial amount of stolen money was found in their possession, and the tools they used for committing thefts were seized.

These thieves had been active across various parts of Kupwara, particularly noted for thefts in the Hajjaj Market and Tikker Kupwara, areas which had seen a string of thefts. The arrest brought considerable relief to the shopkeepers in these areas, who had been significantly impacted by the criminal activities.

The local community, including trade leaders and residents of Kupwara, expressed their gratitude towards SHO Ishaq Ahmed for his decisive action in apprehending the culprits. In addition to recovering the stolen money, the police also seized 12 copper glasses, two jugs, a bag of salted tea, three Exide batteries, and one solar panel, all believed to be stolen property.

The three arrested individuals were identified as Haris Rasheed Sheikh,S/o Abdul Rashid sheikh R/o Tikker kupwara, Sajjad Ahmed Sheikh S/o Mohd Jamal Sheikh R/o Lolab and Danish Ahmed Sheikh S/o Mohd yusuf Sheikh R/o Tikker Kupwara. Following their arrest, an FIR No 87/24 U/S 379,411/IPC PS was filed against them at the Kupwara Police Station. This arrest has raised hopes among the local police and community that it may lead to resolving other past theft cases in the region.
