SHOPIAN, APRIL 22: General Election Observer, Jenu Devan and Police Observer, B Naveen Kumar for Anantnag- Rajouri Parliamentary Constituency today made a joint visit to Shopian district and chaired a review meeting with Nodal officers on Election preparedness in the Zainpora AC.

The District Election Officer (DEO) Shopian, Faz Lul Haseeb at the outset briefed the Observers about various aspects of the District Election Management Plan in the district.

Expenditure monitoring, District Election Control Room, Transport Plan, SVEEP activities, Security Plan and other parameters of the District Election Management plan were discussed in the meeting, and concerned were directed to ensure complete implementation of the plans for the effective conduct of elections.

Haseeb intimated that all logistical, material, security, manpower and other arrangements are in place for smooth conduct of elections in a free and fair manner in the district.

Concerned Nodal Officer also apprised the Observers about their assignments and arrangements being kept in place especially regarding dispatch and distribution centre, security, training, SVEEP, etc.

Observers on the occasion enquired about previous voter turnouts, voter participation, SVEEP activities, security related issues and asked for making efforts for ensuring high voter turnout and incident free elections in the district.

They also stressed upon making result oriented training programmes for staff and micro-observers and assuring assured minimum facilities (AMF).

Later, the Observers made a joint visit to Strong room, Shopian, inspected it and reviewed arrangements.

They also visited polling stations located at Wachi, Zainapora and oversaw arrangements and AMF available there.

The meeting was attended by ADDC, Dr. Nasir Ahmad Lone; ADC, Dr. Zakir Hussain Faaz; AROs, Nodal Officers and other concerned.
