Inspects Media Monitoring Cell, Joint Control Room, distribution and collection centres
KULGAM, APRIL 20: Expenditure Observer (EO) to 3- Anantnag-Rajouri, Parliamentary Constituency, Shyam Manohar Singh today visited Kulgam and undertook a comprehensive review of compliance with election expenditure regulations in Kulgam in connection with the Lok Sabha elections 2024.
During his visit, the EO chaired a meeting at Conference hall mini-secretariat, here which was attended by District Election Officer, Athar Aamir Khan; SSP Kulgam, Sahail Sarangal; Additional District Development Commissioner, Bashir Ahmad Wani; Nodal officer MCC, Abdul Rashid, AROs, Viqar Ahmad Giri and Mushtaq Ahmad Lone, Dy DEO, Bilal Ahmad Kamgar; District Treasury Officer and other officers various other officials and teams involved in the election process.
The DEO, through a presentation, appraised the chair of the district profile and the arrangements and measures put in place for smooth conduct of elections.
It was also shared that a 24×7 robust control room is functioning in the district besides SVEEP activities are being carried out as per the formulated plan.
It was also informed that there are a total of 364 polling stations including 03 women polling stations, 03 PWD, 03 youth manned polling stations and 15 Model polling stations in the district.
During the meeting, SSP Kulgam briefed the EO that a slew of security measures have been taken to ensure peaceful elections in the district.
The Expenditure Observer underscored the importance of adhering to ECI guidelines, emphasizing the crucial role of each stakeholder in safeguarding the democratic process and conducting free, fair and peaceful elections.
He called for a collective commitment towards upholding democratic values and maintaining transparency in electoral expenditures, thus upholding the integrity of the electoral process.
The Expenditure Observer also conducted inspections of Media Monitoring and Social Media Cell, Joint Election Control Room, besides he also inspected Collection/ distribution centres and took detailed assessment of arrangements being put up for safety, surveillance and security of Election related material and machinery to be kept at these centres during the Anantnag Lok Sabha segment of elections.
During his visit to Kulgam EO also inspected polling stations and took stock of availability of facilities.
