Anantnag, April 19: Massive crack down against Drug Mafia in Anantnag Continues. Seven Drug peddlers arrested from different areas of the District. The arrests were made by five different Police Stations, reflecting the coordinated effort to eradicate the Drug menace from the District.

 

Police Post Sangam apprehended two persons namely Feroz Ahmad Rather S/O Gh Rasool Rather and Aijaz Ahmad Mantoo S/O Ghulam Mohammd Mantoo both residents of Waghama Bijbehara and recovered about 09 Kgs of Poppy Straw from their possession. Police Station Kokernag recovered about 16.450 kgs of Cannabis powder from the possession of Suhail Ahmad Dar S/O Mohd Ashraf Dar R/O Nagam Kokernag and Reyaz Ahmad Mir S/O Ab Razaq Mir R/O Watnard Kokernag.

 

Moreover Police Station Uttrasoo arrested Shakeel Ahmad Wani S/O Khazir Wani R/O Shiekhpora Uttresoo and recovered about 21 grams of Charas, 350 grams of Poppy Straw and Rs 10000 in cash from his possession.

 

Aishmuqam Police apprehended one person namely Gh Nabi Bhat S/O Jabbar Bhat R/O Yenner Pahalgam along with about 04 Kgs of Poppy straw and 1.25 Kgs of Bung Boosa. Police party of Police Station Bijbehara during naka checking recovered about 05 Kgs of Cannabis powder from the possession of Indraz Ahmad Thoker son of Ali Mohammed Thoker resident of Waghama Bijbehara.

 

All Seven accused persons were arrested and cases under relevant sections of NDPS Act got registered in five different Police Stations of District

 

Anantnag Police once again appeals the people of the District to come forward with the information regarding drug peddlers so that curative steps can be taken against them.
