UDHAMPUR, APRIL 18: In a significant initiative aimed at promoting inclusivity and encouraging women, Youth and PwD participation in the Parliamentary Elections , Udhampur Administration has established Pink, Red & Blue Polling booths here in 4 ACs of the district, which is going to polls tomorrow.

District Election Officer, Udhampur Saloni Rai inspected the Pink polling booth in the town. Additional District Development Commissioner Rajinder Singh, Additional Deputy Commissioner, Joginder Singh Jasrotia, Deputy District Election Officer, Dr Anirudh Rai, District Panchayat Officer, Dr Preeti Sharma and other officers accompanied the DEO.

The DEO informed that the Pink Polling Station, adorned with vibrant hues of pink, symbolizes a safe and welcoming space for women voters. She added that it serves as a beacon of empowerment, inspiring women across the district to step forward and exercise their right to vote.

Pertinent to mention here a total 16 Model polling stations have been established in the district with specific colour coding in which pink specify women managed polling station while red, blue green are being managed by PwD and youth polling parties.
