Kupwara, April 17, Following the directions of of the District Development Commissioner Kupwara, Ms. Ayushi Sudan (IAS), Rural Development Department, Kupwara has started the temporary restoration of vital assets and infrastructure damaged by recent flash floods at Kalaroos and Magam blocks of Kupwara district.

Temporary Restoration work on Badi Haji -Sarkuli bridge, Badi Behack -Nagsari Bridge, Magam- Putwari bridge, restoration of fencing of Government Middle School Nagsari and other infrastructure has been started by the Rural development department.

ACD Kupwara, Muzaffar Ahmad Sheikh said that makeshift arrangement/ temporary restoration of these bridges will be completed within a week’s time so that people don’t suffer.

Pertinently, recent flash floods triggered by heavy rains had damaged these vital bridges and District Development Commissioner, Kupwara, on Tuesday visited these far-flung areas, took a first-hand appraisal of the situation and assessed the measures being taken by the administration. The District Development Commissioner had directed ACD Kupwara to restore the bridges and other infrastructure.
