KARNAH: A Tata mobile vehicle transporting vegetables from Kupwara to Karnah was involved in a tragic accident, causing injuries to two individuals, including the driver. The incident occurred in Hajinad Karnah when the driver lost control of the vehicle, leading to the collision. Sadly, the impact resulted in the complete destruction of the vegetable cargo.

Prompt action from local residents saw the injured promptly transported to the hospital for urgent medical attention. Subsequently, Tehsildar Karnah Muhammad Amin Wani personally visited the hospital to oversee the treatment process and ensure that the injured received the necessary care. The two injured individuals were identified as Shafiq Ahmed, son of Muhammad Yamin, and Sajjad Ahmed, son of Kala, both hailing from Nawgabra.

Following the accident, authorities initiated an investigation, with the police registering a case to ascertain the circumstances surrounding the incident.

Meanwhile, six months ago, at Gabra road, a Sumo accident occurred. Unfortunately, the driver involved in the accident, Rafi Ahmed, succumbed to his injuries nearly five months after the initial incident in October 2023. His passing marked the eighth casualty resulting from the Gabra road accident. This unfortunate incident occurred on Wednesday, April 3, during the final ten days of Ramadan, adding to the somber atmosphere. The loss of life underscores the importance of road safety measures and prompt medical attention in mitigating such tragedies.
