SHOPIAN, APRIL 01: The District Election Officer (DEO) Shopian, Faz Lul Haseeb today reviewed the arrangements being made for setting up Special Polling booths in the district in a meeting with concerned officers for the upcoming Lok Sabha Elections.
It was intimated that dedicated and exclusive polling booths for ‘All-women’/PWD/youth managed and green polling stations at specified locations of the district shall be set up.
Speaking on the occasion, DEO directed the concerned officers to ensure that all basic facilities/ Assured Minimum Facilities and other arrangements vis a vis logistics and other ancillary services are provided and kept in place for the voters on the polling day.
Every model polling station should be neat and clean, DEO instructed during the meeting. To greet voters and ensure best possible participation of voters in the polling process, these shall have an attractive welcome gate.
DEO also emphasized for working with utmost dedication for conduct of elections in a free, fair and transparent manner.
Dy. DEO, Jahangir Ahmed, CEO, Principals of HSSs concerned Nodal Officers, officials and other stakeholders were present.
