BJP’s Jugal Kishor announces to file papers tomorrow
Jammu, Mar 28 : On the first day of nomination for Jammu Lok Sabha constituency, two Bahujan Samaj Party candidates filed their nomination papers on Thursday.
The constituency is scheduled to go for polling in 2nd phase of General Elections to be held in Jammu and Kashmir on April 26.
As per details available ,Jagdish Raj from BSP filed his papers in the office of Returning Officer while Charanjeet Chargotra submitted his papers as covering candidate.
Earlier, Returning Officer Jammu Parliamentary Constituency, Sachin Kumar Vaishya issued election notification for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections in the constituency.
The election notification specifies the timeline and procedures for candidates wishing to contest in the parliamentary elections.
As per the notification, nomination papers can be filed by candidates or their proposers at the Returning Officer’s office (Deputy Commissioner), Jammu Wazarat Road Jammu between 11:00 am to 03:00 pm on any day (other than public holiday) not later than 04 April, 2024.
The nomination forms can be obtained from the office of the Returning Officer, located at the Deputy Commissioner’s office in Jammu.
Scrutiny of the nomination papers will take place on 06 April, 2024 at 11:00 am at Deputy Commissioner’s Office Jammu.
The candidates have the option to withdraw their candidature on April 08, 2024 until 03:00 pm.
The polling day for the constituency has been scheduled for April 26, 2024, and the polling will be conducted from 07:00 am to 06:00 pm.
Meanwhile, Bharatiya Janata Party’s (BJP) Jammu and Kashmir president Ravinder Raina has announced that party candidate for Jammu-Reasi parliamentary seat Jugal Kishore Sharma on March 30.
He said Sharma will address a massive rally of party activists, workers and supporters on the occasion of filing of nomination papers.
Bharatiya Janata Party’s Jugal Kishor Sharma is presently representing this seat in the parliament.
Sharma defeated Congress candidate and working President Raman Bhalla with the difference of over 3 lakh votes.
Both the leaders pitched again to face each other from their respective parties.
Interestingly, Ankur Sharma, founder of Ikk Jutt Jammu, who later make national level party namely Ekam Sanatan Bharat Dal also announced his candidature from Jammu Lok Sabha seat. He will file nominations on April 1.
Moreover, due to fresh arrangement after delimitation, all the candidates likely to face have tough tuff. Important region of Pir Panchal, which have considerable population of Pahari voters, which BJP banking upon is now excluded from Jammu parliamentary constituency, which earlier knows as Jammu -Poonch represented by BJP’s Jugal Kishor Sharma from almost 10 years.
The Jammu Parliamentary seat now consist of 18 Assembly Constituencies namely Bishnah (SC), Suchetgarh (SC), R.S. Pura–Jammu South, Bahu, Jammu East, Nagrota, Jammu West, Jammu North, Marh (SC), Akhnoor (SC) and Chhamb of Jammu district, Gulabgarh (ST) Reasi , Reasi and Shri Mata Vaishno Devi of Reasi, Ramgarh (SC), Samba and Vijaypur and Kalakote–Sunderbani of Jammu—(KNO)
