March 21: Cracking a whip on illegal mining of minerals, kulgam police under the close supervision of SSP Kulgam have seized 2 vehicles and arrested 2 drivers in Kulgam.

A police party of police station DH Pora headed by SHO Police Station DH Pora seized 2 vehicles (tractors) and arrested 2 drivers, involved in illegal extraction and transportation of minerals from Kandi Nala, near Sarmarg. The accused drivers have been identified as Mohd Asif Malik son of Mohd Ashraf Malik and Nadeem Ahmad Malik son of Ghulam Ahmad Malik residents of DK marag.

Subsequently, Case vide FIR No 22/2024 under relevant sections of law stands registered at police station DH Pora and investigation has been taken up.

People are requested not to indulge in any kind of illegal mining activities from any Nallah as it is the violation of Government rules. Persons found indulging in illegal mining activities shall be dealt as per law.
