KULGAM, MARCH 11: The Deputy Commissioner (DC) Kulgam, Athar Aamir Khan Monday convened a meeting of concerned officers to review and finalize the arrangements for the ensuing holy month of Ramadan.

During the meeting, the DC instructed Officers of Jal Shakti and KPDCL to ensure hassle free water and electricity supply to the consumers during the month of Ramadan especially at the Sehri and Iftar times.

Emphasizing on the sanitation and lighting of towns and municipality areas, the DC directed Executive Officers of Municipal Committees to launch special cleanliness drives in the district with focus on roads, lanes, drains and regular lifting of wastage from markets and also installation of more lights in their respective towns.

He also directed the concerned to form special market checking squads to keep check on profiteering, hoarding and overcharging by shopkeepers.

The meeting among others was attended by ADDC, Bashir Ahmad Wani; ACR, Ex. Engineer Jal Shakti, Tehsildars, AEEs of Jal Shakti, PDD, EOs, officers from Sheep and Animal husbandry and other Officers, besides, Auqaf Committee members and members from trade union also attended the meeting.
