Police arrests 02 drug peddlers in Kulgam; Contraband substances recovered

March 08:“Continuing its unwavering efforts to eradicate the menace of drugs from the society, Police have arrested 02 drug peddlers in Kulgam and recovered contraband substances from their possession.

A police party headed by SHO Police Station Qazigund during patrolling intercepted a suspicious person near Bus Stand Qazigund. During search, officers were able to recover 2.5 Kgs of Poppy Straw like substance filled in a nylon bag from his possession. He has been identified as Mohd Mansoor Gojer son of Mohd Hussain Gojer a resident of Nowgolta Chanani.

Moreover, a police party of Police Station Qaimoh at a checkpoint established at Wanpora Crossing intercepted a suspicious person identified as Abdul Rashid Dar son of Ghulam Mohd Dar resident of Shamsipora. During search, officers were able to recover 04 Kgs of Grinded Cannabis like substance filled in a nylon bag from his possession. Both the accused have been arrested and shifted to respective police stations where they remain in custody.

Subsequently, cases under relevant sections of law stands registered in Police Station Qazigund and PS Qaimoh and investigation have been initiated.

General public is requested to come forward or Dial 112 with the information regarding drug peddling/anti-social activities in their vicinity and extend their cooperation to Police in eradicating the drug menace from the society.“`
