KARNAH: In response to the closure of the Karnah-Kupwara highway, the administration initiated a chopper service for Karnah, resulting in the airlifting of 17 individuals from Tingdar to Kupwara on Thursday. Among them were four patients requiring urgent medical attention, accompanied by five attendants and eight passengers. The swift and coordinated efforts of the administration during this emergency situation have been commended by the local community. Despite facing significant challenges due to heavy snowfall over the past five days, including the closure of the Sadhana Pass and increased complexity in snow clearing efforts at Sadhana Top, the administration remains committed to reopening the highway for vehicular traffic once weather conditions permit.
