Kupwara, Jammu & Kashmir – February 14, 2024 – The serene valleys of Kashmir resonated with soul-stirring melodies of Sufi music as the Noor-e-Sama Sufi Musical Festival unfolded at Government Degree College Kupwara. Organized by the Save Youth Save Future Foundation in collaboration with the Indian Army, the event aimed to celebrate the rich cultural heritage of Kashmir through the mystical allure of Sufi music.

The festival, held today on February 14th, witnessed a gathering of esteemed guests, including the Chief Guest, GOC Vajr Division Maj. Gen Girish Kalia, Guest of Honours Commander 68 Brigade T.K Pant, DIG BSF Mr. Upadiya, SSP Kupwara Police Shobit Saxena, CO 41 RR, and Chairman Save Youth Save Future Foundation Wajahat Farooq Bhat.

The venue, Government Degree College Kupwara, provided the perfect backdrop for this harmonious amalgamation of music and culture.

Addressing the audience, Chairman of the “Save Youth Save Future” Foundation, Wajahat Farooq Bhat, expressed his gratitude to all the guests, participants, and attendees for their presence at this celebration of Sufi music and Kashmiri culture. Mr. Bhat highlighted the foundation’s commitment to youth empowerment and the revival of Sufism in the Kashmir Valley, emphasizing the importance of promoting peace, understanding, and unity through cultural initiatives.

The festival featured performances by talented artists from different parts of the Kashmir Valley, captivating the audience with their renditions of Sufi poetry and music. The enchanting melodies served as a reminder of the universal message of love, peace, and spiritual enlightenment espoused by Sufi saints.

GOC Vajr Division Maj. Gen. Girish Kalia spoke at the event and highlighted the significance of Sufism and Sufi music in the Kashmir valley. He also appreciated the organizing body and the artists for their efforts in arranging the event.

Lastly, Maj. Gen. Girish Kalia, along with other dignitaries, felicitated the artists and organizing body.

As the event concluded, attendees were left inspired by the mesmerizing tunes of Sufi music and the enduring spirit of Kashmiri culture. The Noor-e-Sama Sufi Musical Festival served as a testament to the resilience and vibrancy of Kashmir’s artistic traditions, reaffirming the power of music to unite hearts and transcend boundaries.
