MVD organises Health Checkup cum Awareness Camp at Ramban

RAMBAN, FEBRUARY 10: As part of the ongoing ‘Road Safety Month’ campaign, the Motor Vehicles Department (MVD), under the guidance of Deputy Commissioner Ramban, Baseer-Ul-Haq Chaudhary, today organized a health check-up cum awareness camp for drivers and conductors here at general Bus Stand .

The initiative aimed to promote the health and well-being of drivers and conductors, recognizing their pivotal role in ensuring road safety.

A team of doctors from District Hospital provided free health check-ups and eye examinations to the principal stakeholders, including drivers and conductors.

The event was graced by the presence of Senior Superintendent of Police, Traffic, NHW Ramban, Rohit Baskotra, Additional District Development Commissioner, Roshan Lal, ACR Harpal Singh, Dy. DEO Lal Chand, ARTO Samrinder Singh, Dy. SP Iftikhar Ahmed, Tehsildar, Deep Kumar, CEO MC Ramban, Sudarshan Singh, and various other concerned officers.

The Senior Superintendent of Police, Traffic, emphasized the importance of adhering to traffic rules and regulations, urging participants to follow the Motor Vehicle Act and Rules diligently. He stressed the significance of avoiding speeding, using mobile phones while driving, improper overtaking, and illegal parking.

In his address, the Additional District Development Commissioner highlighted the crucial link between health and driving, emphasizing the importance of maintaining good health to ensure adherence to road safety measures.

An interactive session provided an opportunity to drivers, conductors, and officers from civil and police administration to engage in meaningful discussions, further enhancing awareness about road safety and health-related issues.

The medical camp, jointly inaugurated by the Senior Superintendent of Police and Additional District Development Commissioner, witnessed the examination of more than 100 drivers and conductors, covering various aspects including blood pressure, sugar levels, eyesight, and overall health.

Meanwhile, District Nodal Officer, Yoga, Dr. Masood also demonstrated various Yogas to drivers for their health and stress management.

The ARTO expressed gratitude to the Health Department, Municipal Council Ramban, Police and Traffic Police for their support in organizing the camp, reaffirming their commitment to promoting road safety and well-being in the society.
