Emphasizes time bound snow clearance & restoration of essential services

BANDIPORA, FEBRUARY 01: In the wake of overnight snowfall in Bandipora district, the Deputy Commissioner (DC), Shakeel Ur Rehman today undertook an extensive tour of various areas to inspect snow clearance operations and to take spot assessment of overall post-snowfall situation in the district.

Accompanied by a team of officers, including ACR Bandipora Shabir Ahmad, Executive Engineer R&B Asadullah Najar, EO MC and others concerned field officials, the DC visited main town, Gulshan Chowk, Nusoo, Papchan, Nadihal, Gamroo, Ajas, Bothoo, Athwatoo besides other several villages of the district to ensure swift snow removal.

While touring several areas affected by the snowfall, the DC personally inspected the progress of snow clearance efforts. He expressed satisfaction with the pace of operations and commended the tireless work of sanitation crews in ensuring road accessibility.

He also emphasized the need to prioritize clearing snow from critical routes and public spaces to minimize inconvenience to the public. He also directed the officials to ensure that essential services are restored/ ensured in a time-bound manner to ensure minimal possible inconvenience to the general public.

Furthermore, the DC visited the Ajar electricity receiving station and the Putushai electricity grid station to have firsthand understanding of the power supply scenario. He interacted with officials and reviewed the restoration efforts underway.

He directed them to expedite restoration work and prioritize restoring power to essential facilities and vulnerable areas.
