KULGAM, JANUARY 30: In memory of brave hearts who sacrificed their lives for the nation, a 02 minute silence as a mark of respect was today observed at 11am in district Kulgam on the occasion of Martyrs Day.
The function was presided over by Additional District Development Commissioner (ADDC), Showkat Ahmad Rather and was attended by DPO, SDM, CEO, and other district officers and officials housed in Mini Secretariat, Kulgam.
Similar functions in this regard were held across the district by different sub-divisional, tehsil and block offices, and educational institutions etc.
On the occasion, the importance of the day was highlighted and it was said that the moral obligation of every citizen is to protect, preserve and enrich the hard earned freedom and to promote a sense of national integration and commitment to common goals and ideals.
