Mandeep Kaur visits Udhampur; inspects sewerage plant, sites for housing colonies

UDHAMPUR, JANUARY 22: Commissioner Secretary, Housing & Urban Development Department, Mandeep Kaur, today conducted an extensive tour of Udhampur district today.

During the visit, Commissioner Secretary inspected work on Devika Rejuvenation Project, Sewerage Treatment Plant 1 and 3 (STP-1 and 3) and Devika Ghat.

During her visit, she stressed on maintaining cleanliness at the Ghat besides ensuring connection of all houses with the treatment plant. She directed the Chief Executive Officer, Municipal Council Udhampur, to ensure door to door collection of garbage besides ensuring proper disposal of the same.

Accompanied by Deputy Commissioner, Saloni Rai, Chief Engineer, UEED, Naseer Ahmed Kakroo, Additional District Development Commissioner, Ghan Sham Singh, Director ULB, Jammu, Puneet Sharma, MD Housing Jammu, Shabir Hussain Keen, Additional Deputy Commissioner, Joginder Singh Jasrotia, Assistant Commissioner Revenue, Rafiq Ahmed Jaral and other officers, the Commissioner Secretary also visited the sites identified by the district administration for development of two housing colonies.

Mandeep Kaur directed the officers to ensure cleanliness and beautification of the urban areas. She emphasised the importance of cleanliness while asking the officers for laying focus on solid waste management, regular garbage lifting, sanitation and beautification of the town.

The Commissioner Secretary highlighted the necessity of people’s participation in keeping the city clean.
