January 11: Continuing its efforts to eradicate the menace of drugs from the society, Police have arrested 2 drug peddlers in Baramulla and recovered contraband substances from their possession.
A police party of Police Station Kreeri headed by SHO PS Kreeri at a checkpoint established at Tapper Bala intercepted one person. During search, 30 grams of Heroin like substance was recovered from his possession. He has been identified as Shabir Ahmad Khan son of Mohammad Assadullah resident of Saloosa Kreeri. He has been arrested and shifted to PS Kreeri where he remains in custody.
Similarly, a police party of Police Post Delina headed by I/C PP Delina at a checkpoint established at Delina Ghat intercepted one person. During search, 60 grams of Charas like substance was recovered from his possession. He has been identified as Qazi Tufail Ahmad son of Qazi Jahangir Ahmad resident of Qazipora Delina. He has been arrested and shifted to PS Baramulla where he remains in custody.
Accordingly, cases under relevant sections of law have been registered at police Station Kreeri & PS Baramulla and investigation have been initiated.
