SRINAGAR, DECEMBER 28: Commissioner Secretary, Skill Development Department (SDD), Saurabh Bhagat, today chaired a meeting to review skilling schemes of Central and UT governments besides assessing Skill Trainings of Youth identified under Back to Village Programme (B2V4) and MTMP across Jammu and Kashmir.

While addressing the meeting, Saurabh Bhagat emphasised upon the representatives from line departments to onboard the skilling schemes of Central and UT governments on the Skill India Portal/ Skill India Digital for convenience of the candidates. He said that mapping of skilling schemes will avoid duplicity and prevent malpractices.

He emphasized on convergence between various departments on skilling initiatives to avoid redundancy and have holistic overview of skill ecosystem of the UT. He exhorted upon the State Educational/Technical Boards to approach NCVET for being recognized as Awarding Bodies for Skill Certification in Educational Institutions so that the trainees will not face any problem with respect to certification issues.

He also reviewed the status of Skill Trainings of Youth identified under Back to Village Programme (B2V4) and MTMP across JKUT. He enquired about the number of people trained annually in various skill courses from various departments. He directed for Aadhaar seeded training and placement data by the departments so that a realistic picture is put forward.

The representatives from various departments informed that they have already covered the target set under B2V4.

Commissioner Secretary said that the SDD is in process of developing a robust Management Information System (MIS) to keep record and track the trained and placed skilled candidates. The MIS will have access by all the stakeholders and various departments that undertake different skilling initiatives in the UT, he added.
