The program is being conducted in partnership with the Skill Development Department at Government Polytechnic Ganderbal, Budgam, and Anantnag.

Under the guidance of the Commissioner Secretary Skill Development Department, Saurabh Bhagat, four polytechnics were selected for the Entrepreneurship Skill Development Program. Currently, ESDP has been successfully launched in three polytechnics, with plans to initiate the program in another polytechnic in Kulgam next week.

The inaugural session of these comprehensive programs witnessed the esteemed presence of Er. Ashiq Nabi, Principal of Govt Polytechnic Anantnag; Dr. Shafquat Ara, Principal of Govt Polytechnic Budgam; and Er. Shafqat Yousuf, Principal of Govt Polytechnic Ganderbal.

The commencement of the programs has been marked with success, owing to the collaborative efforts and support extended by the Skill Development Department. The Principals of the respective polytechnics expressed their appreciation for this initiative and emphasized the necessity of such short-term courses in fostering skill development. They ensured complete support and proper infrastructure availability for these programs.

Saheel Alaqband, Assistant Director MSME, highlighted the objectives of these programs, stating that they aim to equip the youth with essential skills and create awareness about government schemes. This, in turn, will empower them to establish micro enterprises successfully. The program dedicates one week specifically to entrepreneurship awareness, ensuring participants gain a comprehensive understanding of the opportunities available.

Mr. Alaqband emphasized that the ultimate goal is to make the youth both skillful and knowledgeable about government initiatives, enabling them to explore self-employment opportunities. The participants have exhibited significant interest in these programs, signaling a positive response towards fostering entrepreneurship and self-reliance.

The MSME DFO remains committed to supporting initiatives that contribute to the economic growth and self-sufficiency of the region.
