Appeals public to avail scheme benefits with highest subsidy of 65%

 

JAMMU, DECEMBER 26: Commissioner Secretary, Science & Technology, Saurabh Bhagat, today flagged off the Solar Rath Yatra from JAKEDA Office, Jammu for promotion of Rooftop Solar Scheme in Jammu and Kashmir.

 

Speaking on the occasion, Saurabh Bhagat said that the Yatra aims to create awareness among the electricity consumers so that more and more people are attracted towards the Solar Energy usage thereby reducing the energy burden in the UT of J&K.

 

Commissioner Secretary also highlighted the benefits of Solar Energy over the conventional energy and the incentives being offered by the government, under the 200 MW cumulative capacity sanction of the Union Ministry for New and Renewable Energy (MNRE).

 

Saurabh Bhagat said that the Solar (Surya) Rath Yatra will cover 72 wards of Jammu City during the coming 15 days to cover maximum populace of the Jammu City and ensure saturation of Solar Energy in domestic and other sectors of the UT.

 

Commissioner Secretary also appealed the public to take maximum benefit from the scheme and avail upto 65 percent subsidy on the project which is highest in any subsidized scheme.

 

Among others, CEO JAKEDA, Dr. P. R. Dhar, Additional Secretary S&T, Shafiq Ahmed, Financial Advisor, Rashim Deepika, Additional Director ST&IC, Nasir Ahmed, Executive Engineers JAKEDA, Khalid Mehmud and M. A. Banka and Regional Head, Jammu, Deepak Sharma, were also present on the occasion.
