DC Kulgam reviews progress in land acquisition cases

KULGAM, DECEMBER 20: In order to review progress made in land acquisition for various developmental projects in the District. Viz. Tsimer Dandward (Dragdan), Yarikhah Dabdaban (Langkhul), Maldar to Wedkhud Dardgund, Kanjikullah Yamrach Dessend Checkhanjan roads and other projects, a meeting of officers was today held under the chairmanship of Deputy Commissioner (District Collector), Dr. Bilal Mohi-Ud-Din Bhat at Mini Secretariat Kulgam.

At the outset participating officers were apprised of the Land Acquisition Rules notified vide S.O. 440 dated 24.08.2023.

 

During the meeting, the chair highlighted the importance of these developmental projects and instructed for removal of bottlenecks hindering the execution of work for completion of these development projects.

 

Instructions were passed to indenting departments (Executive Engineer R&B/PMGSY/I&FC, JSD (PHE) to place proper indent which is a prerequisite for initiating land acquisition proceedings for the projects.

 

The DC directed executing agencies/indenting departments to communicate to their higher ups for early submission of proper indent through competent authority, so that the land acquisition proceedings under Right to Fair Compensation and Transparency in Land Acquisition, Rehabilitation and Resettlement Act, 2013, may be initiated at an earliest.

 

The meeting was attended by ACR, Mir Imtiyaz Ul Aziz; SDM Noorabad, Bashir Ul Hassan; Ex. Engineers from R&B, Irrigation, PMGSY, Jal Shakti and other concerned officers.
