SHOPIAN, DECEMBER 18: The District Hub for Empowerment of Women (DHEW) Shopian today conducted an awareness camp on Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao (BBBP) and other women centric schemes at Govt High School Chitragam, here.
The awareness programme aimed to create awareness about gender equality, women’s rights, and the various government initiatives designed to uplift women and create a safe and empowering environment for them.
On the occasion, DHEW officials spoke in length on the importance of women’s empowerment and the significance of educating girls.
They also raised awareness on different women centric schemes like Pension schemes, Scholarship schemes, Prosthetic Aids, SMAS etc and threw light on Women empowerment schemes and initiatives available at District level such as DHEW, OSC, WHL 181, Shelter Home, Marriage Assistance Scheme, PMMVY, Employment generation schemes such as Tajeswini, Mumkin, PMEGP, etc.
The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from the local community including sarpanches, Awws, Asha workers, SHGs and locals.
