DODA, DECEMBER 18: Deputy Commissioner Doda Harvinder Singh today convened a meeting of the members of District Environment Committee (DEC) and discussed the formulation of District Environment Plan (DEP) 2024.

The Committee headed by DFO Doda, assisted by Executive Officer Municipal Council Doda and Divisional Officer PCC Doda, shall be responsible for the formulation of the plan and its uploading on the designated portal by the December end 2023 after taking inputs from the concerned departments / stakeholders.

 

It was informed that the DEP-2024 would focus on 7 thematic points of Waste Management Plan, Plastic Waste Management Plan, Bio Medical Waste Management Plan, Construction and Demolition Waste Management Plan, Hazardous Waste Management Plan, E-waste Management Plan, Water Quality Management Plan, Domestic Sewerage Management Plan, Wet land Conservation and Management Plan, Industrial Waste Management Plan, Air Quality Management Plan, Mining Activities Management Plan, and Noise Pollution Management Plan, besides micro plans on other factors affecting natural environment.

 

ADC Doda, Dr Ravi Kumar Bharti, who serves as Nodal Officer DEC, at the outset, issued directions to all the members of DEC to submit the inputs, and Plan pertaining to their departments to the designated committee within two days, so that the consolidated DEP is approved and put on execution within the stipulated time frame, ensuring the mandated environmental protection, conservation and rejuvenation.

 

The ADC said that environment protection plan is an important step in the interest of our future generations, we all must take the opportunity to contribute for better and healthy future for our coming generations. We must own the responsibility to save our environment and protect and improve our bio diversity around us.
