Van to demonstrate voting process across the district
SHOPIAN, DECEMBER 15: The District Election Officer (DEO) Shopian, Faz Lul Haseeb today flagged-off the EVM and VVPAT demonstration vehicle from Mini- Secretariat, here.
A team of dedicated officers and officials of the district election office were also present on the occasion.
The pan district demonstration campaign of Electronic Voting Machine (EVM) shall continue till February 29, 2024.
During the period, the team along with district level master trainers shall visit all the 189 polling locations covering 251 polling stations across the district to demonstrate the process of voting before the voters and general public.
EROs, AEROs, BLO Supervisors and BLOs have been sensitised to make the programme successful by involving all the stakeholders.
Earlier in the day, a detailed training programme was conducted by the state level master trainers for a five member team of district level master trainers. The said team shall provide wide information about how to register a vote by physical demonstrations involving all the three units of EVM.
Various activities under Systematic Voter’s Education and Electoral Participation (SVEEP) programme on EVM training shall also help to create awareness regarding the electoral process and to convey voter awareness messages in the district.
All the scheduled dates of visits to polling locations have already been shared with the masses with requests to contact their Booth Level Officer for further assistance in the matter.
Three demonstration centres and two strong rooms have been established across the two assembly constituencies of 36-Zainpora and 37-Shopian in the district.
