SHOPIAN, DECEMBER 11: The District Hub for Empowerment of Women (DHEW) Shopian today organised an awareness camp regarding Beti Bachao Beti Padhao (BBBP) at Govt Higher Secondary School, Imam Sahib Shopian.
Speaking on the occasion, District Mission Coordinator, DHEW spoke about the benefits of BBBP scheme which ensure the survival, protection, education and dignity of a girl child.
Coordinator also raised awareness on Women Empowerment and laid emphasis on gender equality.
Gender specialist, DHEW informed the participants about the basic rights of women alongwith the stressing upon the education of girl children and informed about free elementary education for them.
The awareness program created awareness about gender equality, women’s rights, and the various government initiatives designed to uplift women and create a safe and empowering environment for them.
The programme was attended by AWWs, Asha workers, SHGs, and local women of the area.
