SHOPIAN, DECEMBER 09: The District Hub for Empowerment of Women, Shopian today conducted an awareness camp under Beti Bachao, Beti Padhoa (BBBP) at Govt Higher Secondary School Kaprin with the aim to acquaint the participants about women empowerment schemes and initiatives.
During the campaign, the speakers including Principal, Government Higher Secondary School, Kaprin, District Mission Coordinator DHEW, Gender Specialist DHEW, and Resource persons from various line departments sensitized participants about the significance of educating girls and the need to provide equal opportunities to both boys and girls.
Speakers emphasized upon the significant role of education for gender equality and over all development of a girl child.
The BBBP initiative, launched by the government, seeks to empower girls and ensure their education and overall development.
The programme included a series of informative sessions and discussions on various aspects of girl child and awareness of government schemes meant for the women.
Moreover, the experts from the department of health also raised awareness among people about the health benefits of golden and abha cards.
The programme was attended by AWWs, Asha workers, sarpanch, panchs, staff members and Girl students of Government Higher secondary School Kaprin.
